Hornet expected it to be harder, and well, it was still hard, trying to move her sibling without pulling out any of their stitches. The real challenge then came, actually moving The Hollow Knight. They organized the nest in silence for a while, Cornifer came back with the bedding from what was probably one of the bedrooms (Hornet hadn’t done much exploring of the house.) and piled it on, eventually they had made a good, Hollow Knight-sized bed. “You were smart to find them a place that fit, but now you should be more worried about comfort, much of what you can do has already been done by the looks of it.” Maybe a little better.” Iselda bent down to help Hornet. Even still she did as Iselda asked of her. “A nest on the floor? Couldn’t that hurt them?” Hornet asked. “Here, there is a blanket and some pillows in there, spread them out on the floor, Corny, can you search some of the other rooms for more? We should build this poor bug a proper nest.” “That can’t be comfortable…” Iselda murmured, before handing the basket to Hornet. They were fine, no signs of improvement, but no signs of them getting worse. I don’t even have furniture bigger than this table to lay them on.” Hornet walked over to her sibling, quickly checking their condition. “Yes, they where quite a hassle getting up here. “I-I knew you were taking care of an injured bug but I never guessed… oh stars they’re huge!” Cornifer exclaimed. Hornet and Cornifer walked up to where Iselda was standing, Cornifer squeaked when he saw The Hollow Knight, and Hornet could only flinch. Oh right, The Hollow Knight was sitting on the table. “Don’t mention it.” Iselda had walked into the kitchen, clearly ready to put her basket on the table, when she let out a gasp. “Oh, thank you,” Hornet said, not truly knowing what else to say. Hornet could see that the woman was carrying a large basket of something, and when Hornet let her inside she could see it looked to be a mix of some sort of cloth, soap, and other such necessities. “You see dear, we thought we should stop by with some welcome gifts.” The taller bug, Iselda said. “Of course it is!” The shorter bug, Cornifer was his name, said. “Um… hello, this is a surprise,” Hornet said. She had met them yesterday, but was surprised to see them at her door. When Hornet woke up, she went straight to work, replacing The Hollow Knight’s bandages and then working on a new cloak for them after determining their old one unsalvageable.Īt about early afternoon there was a knock on the door, Hornet opened it ro discoverer the mapmaking couple who lived a few doors down. She went to sleep with ease that night and it was thankfully dreamless. The day passed with relative ease for Hornet, she cleaned her catch, cooked it, and had a hearty meal.
